lol! One thing is for certain though, I certainly wouldn't like to face that badass-looking tank pale pale pale (in fact, I wouldn't like to face any modern tank, it's kinda "bad" for our health ).

reports of it being at arms exhibitions said the turret was always heavily obscured by netting so as to keep it's technology a secret. are you guys going to be doing the same thing? because personally i'd rather you didn't. they're obscuring it's turret because it's a prototype that hasn't seen combat yet, but seeing as it will in TAOW, it's secrecy is no longer so important. i've always prefered games and mods that didn't put camo-netting on it.

Nope, our Black Eagle is gonna have a standard, "uncamouflaged" turret (to bring out it's badass look Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil ).

Yeah, in fact, the T-95 will be even lower than the Black Eagle, it's turret will be much lower than current Russian Tanks and will be remotely controlled by a gunner which will be horizontally positioned on the gunner compartment in the middle part of the tank hull.

The lower and the more compact a tank is, the more effective it tends to be on tank battles just as the Germans proved in WW2 with their extremely effective Sturmgeschütz (assault guns) which are estimated to have destroyed about 15.000 to 20.000 Allied tanks during WW2 Shocked Shocked Shocked making it much more effective than Tigers and other larger profile German Tanks of WW2 which required much more resources and time to be produced.

Speaking of the Sturmgeschütz and Soviet tanks,

In 1944 the Finnish Army received 59 StuG III's from Germany and used them against the Soviet Union. These destroyed at least 87 enemy tanks for a loss of only 8 StuGs (some of these were destroyed by their crews when they abandoned the vehicle to prevent capture). After the war, they were the main combat vehicles of the Finnish Army until the early 1960s.

They surely used the Stugs with great effectiveness Shocked

Yeah, they will eventually upgrade the Abrams to the next generation (the Abrams is a product of the 70's, even though it was kept in top shape with constant upgrades, they will eventually replace it with a newer generation).

However, the current M1A2's are fantastic tanks who can own the battlefield, they will continue with these tanks for a looong time (kinda what happened with the Patton tank).

One thing is for certain though, I certainly wouldn't like to mess with a tank pale pale pale , even with more advanced anti tank weapons, the probability of destroying a tank with infantry carried weapons is diminishing, the tactical importance of artillery and helicopter increases, etc. this is the battlefield advance and changes right in front of our eyes (just like when the first tanks and military planes appeared, only a hell more advanced)

By Extremely More Armor I Meant That Really More Armor In A Surrounding Order
Like
Front: Reinforced , Originally Comes With A Mine Jammer No Ploug
Rear: Slat Plus Titanium Surrounding
Sides: Tiles Plus Another Layer
Top: Extremely More Reinforced Due to Obvious Reasons
Plus A Lower Protection Around The Tacks
It Will Be More Buffer Than Ever
What Surprised Me Was The 20 Cylinder Engine And 160mm Cannon affraid

Re: in-game screenshots

Interesting thread, you know, I'd say they are already starting to generally upgrade the Abrams with the new SEP and TUSK upgrades (which may be the first step in the general modernization of the fleet).

However, there are some points which may be different, popularly, people say autoloaders are more effective than human loaders which is not the case (at least not now), an Abrams can fire very fast by "loading shells manually" (or "manual work" as tankers like to call it Laughing ), plus it is a great way to avoid potential problems which some Soviet tanks had (like autoloader jamming).

Heavier armor and shells would increase the overall weight of the tank, thus reducing it's effective radius and increased logistical cost, so I'd say they will try to use APS (Active Protection Systems) instead of heavier armor plates (this can be clearly watched on the plans for the American FCS - Future Combat Systems doctrine).

Instead of making tanks more massive (which was the trend back in WW2), they will try to use technology to decrease overall weight while increasing tank security.

One of the focal points of the FCS is that vehicles can be transported quickly by aircraft, meaning that weight must be reduced.

Re: in-game screenshots

I don't think it should come with permanent camo on it in the mod, however I have seen tank camo used in another mod as a legit tactic used in the game.

It was a stealth GLA tank that when not moving or firing, automatically deployed camo nets and the unit then became fully stealthed in the game until moved or it fires. This wasn't an upgrade, it was just the way the tank came.

Now, for TAOW if they were to adopt this tactic, I would like to see it deployed in the game as an an individual unit upgrade for tanks (APCs too?), and for realism have some sort of como building sort of delay since it does take some time and effort in setting up the proper amount of camo (using nets or natural cover) to stealth a tank.

Yup Thumbs Up! , some vehicles will be able to be upgraded with camo, camo nets will be primarily adopted for "poorly armored" units (such as some particular artillery units when they are deployed, also, other vehicles which will make a big use of it are the Command Vehicles.

Basically, a vehicle loses it's camo/stealth capability when it moves or fires (it "reveals itself" so the opponent can fight back).
