Fuel and Power system

Post  Vegantor on Sat Mar 14, 2009 4:39 pm

Do you guys change the power system for the building or not change the system like in ZH. About the fuel is it for aircraft so its like the aircraft have to land even though their armament is still full. (btw I haven't see most of the other post and is my English is bad) Question

Welcome to the group Vegantor!

There is no power system in the mod, and there are no 'base' structures in the mod. Having said that though, there may be some buildable defensive structures such as sand bagged walls, and stuff like that.

As for the fuel system, that is still up in the air at this point. No firm decision has been made yet. (unless of course I missed a memo along the way) Smile

So basically there's no command center.
But would there be a building that would act as the staging area for troop deployment.

Cheers Vegantor, welcome to the TAOW Forums Thumbs Up!

Yeah, if aircraft wander for too long they will have to return to an airbase, aircraft carrier, etc. to refuel.

Actually there will be Command Centers, the brand new CC's will be mobile (vehicles), there are three main categories of command vehicles (quite versatile in their own ways):

- Ground-Based Mobile Command Vehicles (the main Command Vehicles, an experimental example is the Stryker M1130 CV)

- Airborne Early Warning and Control ('AEW&C' - Aerial Command Center)

- Command Ships (the naval command center, Aircraft Carriers will do that role)

Expect highly mobile battlefields that can be separately controlled by land, sea or air

TAOW will be definitely very different from most ZH mods (you no longer are forcefully attached to a specific location like in ZH, but instead the battle lines will be constantly shaped by the player's moves). The defensive player also haves the chance to dig in on specific areas as desired.

I'm fairly certain that it's mostly paradrop. There may be some exceptions to that rule though. Such as, for example, the naval mode where ships possibly could be built from a capturable ship yard structure, and in normal mode the capturable airfield would build aircraft. That sort of thing.

Because paradropping vehicles such a MBT wouldn't end so well. lol!
maybe there could be at least a airfield of some sort to drop off heavy weapons.

Actually It Is Possible, Depends On The Transport, Like A C-17 Globmaster III Is Produced To Transport A Really Heavy Load, Such As MBTs And Lighter Areal Transports Like The C-130 To Transport Humvee's Personnel And More And Even Lighter And On And On ...

Precisely Thumbs Up!

The main unit deployment method on the standard missions is paradrop (which are called in by Command Vehicles) to a nearby location, however, just like Tusker, James and F-16 stated, we will have several deployment methods other than aircraft (depending on the assignment and specific mission).

At this moment the vehicle deployment method via airdrop is already working Twisted Evil

If you can use a vehicle as a command vehicle, then couldn't you call in an airstrike for say an infantry units window?

Yeah, there will be several command vehicles, some specialized CV's will be dedicated to control aircraft (helicopters, jets, airstrikes, etc.).

Yup, Command Vehicles can call in vehicles to a nearby location, a plane like the C-130J or C-17A (depending on the unit the player chose to deploy) will fly in and drop the units in the battlefield via paradrop.

I think we might release some images about paradropped vehicles in the next Mini Update Cool!
