Re: When a beta version?

We are including many experimental ideas (which weren't included to such a large extent in other projects), you know when we talk about this new "randomizer" logic?

Remember Zero Hour's GLA Technicals? There were 3 different models. (a van, a jeep and a car)

The Randomizer will do the same with infantry (that's basically why there will be soldiers with different skin tones/colors, different gear (like helmets, and hopefully glasses Cool! ) among many others.

Many thanks Thumbs Up!

There'll be a loooot of new things which will appear (some of which weren't never included in any project so far), it's a lot to explain, but you'll see what I meant when you play it yourself Cool

Just replied to the PM Cool

Well, there will be many ways, you can capture tactical locations (like cities), complete special secondary objectives (during skirmishes) among many others.

Secondary objectives will vary greatly, on this thread, for example, we are discussing a possible inclusion of a new idea:

http://taow.simulationboard.com/member-s-access-f5/un-structure-and-specialized-control-points-idea-t191.htm

The new "money" is called RP (Reinforcement Points).

nice cheers

Snake, have any idea yet when the 2nd and 3rd mega update will appear?
Since I guess that after the 3rd one a beta version won't stay away for long bounce

the secondary objectives during campaign are gonna be difficult to put in.
when i played CWCs "Advanced Skirmish" mode, i couldn't find a scrap of difference to standard skirmishes. it was only later on i found out in forums that they include a downed pilot who spawns at a random location who you can save for sum extra bucks, and you can get a convoy called in once for some more extra cash.
those arent secondary objectives!!! Evil or Very Mad they give a little cash, and they aren't anounced clearly at the start of a match with breifing or anything!
single player campaign missions always include good secondaries with real rewards, not so much skirmishes.
so if you guys plan to do secondaries in TAOW, i beg you, please make them more complex!!!
make them require more effort to acheive, give bigger rewards than just spare cash, and please make sure they're stated at the start of the match so it's not just a standard skirmish!!!

tough road ahead, but this mod hasn't let me down so far! Thumbs Up!
keep the great work comin! -pyro

I do like the idea of SAR of down pilots. It would make for a fairly good secondary excursion. I also agree that it should be more complex somehow, and not just be a gimme.

The Second Mega Update is getting MUCH closer Twisted Evil , we still don't have a specific release date, but a lot of new stuff is being prepared (to make up for the delay) Twisted Evil

Thanks Thumbs Up! , well I've been thinking of a plan which will hopefully create a specialized TAOW Mapper Team (which will directly collaborate with the main TAOW Team) to hopefully create solid and complex secondary objectives (in addition to creating a more suited and adaptable Worldbuilder).

Agreed, in fact, I think it would be interesting if a secondary objective automatically popped up when one of our pilots ejected when a plane went down (it would be quite interesting if we somehow managed to have a SAR Team conducting the rescue while the adversary team received the objective of capturing or killing the pilot) scratch

lol! Many thanks sunny

The next mini update will bring some extra info about the Alpha / Beta versions , at the moment our main focus is to code the units so they can be included ingame and used (it's still gonna take some time though).

How about that TMU? Its been a while since the last mega update. (note date on previous post) 8)
Is everything coming along alright?
I'm on the hunt for ZH animators and modelers. See if we can't reel this baby in a little sooner.

Unfortunately I'm afraid that part of the Team is currently cut off from contact pale

The Mini Updates are still up though (two of them, after that comes the TMU as planned), and will be released when the last renders are assembled (possibly soon after contact is reestablished).

There will be some alternative special updates in the meantime though (to update FileFront, and possibly to present TAOW to other C&C-related sites sunny ).
